Ripple's XRP Branding Lands on the Field at Florida's Swamp

TL;DR

  • Florida Athletics has signed a multi-year partnership with blockchain company Ripple.

  • XRP branding will appear on the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium beginning with the 2026 football season.

  • Ripple will also support financial and technology education for student-athletes and the broader university community.

Florida Athletics Signs Multi-Year Partnership with Ripple

Florida Athletics has entered a multi-year partnership with Ripple that will bring XRP branding to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium beginning with the 2026 college football season.

The XRP logo will feature prominently on the stadium’s field and appear across Florida Athletics’ digital platforms, event signage, and other promotional properties.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The partnership gives Ripple exposure to one of the largest and most passionate fan bases in college sports. Florida competes in the Southeastern Conference, widely regarded as one of the most prominent conferences in collegiate athletics.

The agreement extends beyond advertising and branding. Ripple will support financial and technology education for University of Florida student-athletes and the broader campus community.

The educational initiatives will cover traditional finance and digital assets, although the university has not disclosed specific details about the programs or when they will begin.

Florida Athletics Director Scott Stricklin said the agreement reflects the university’s history of adopting technology to improve its programs and fan experiences.

“Florida has a long history of embracing innovation and technology to enhance the experience of our fans and advance our programs,” Stricklin said. “Ripple has established itself as an innovative leader in financial technology, and we’re excited to welcome XRP to Gator Nation.”

XRP Branding Gains Exposure in College Sports

XRP is the native cryptocurrency of the XRP Ledger, a decentralized blockchain designed to facilitate fast and efficient financial transactions.

Founded in 2012, Ripple provides blockchain-based financial services covering payments, digital asset custody, prime brokerage, and treasury management. XRP and the company’s RLUSD stablecoin support several of its financial products and services.

The Florida partnership represents another step in Ripple’s effort to introduce XRP to mainstream sports audiences.

Earlier this summer, Ripple became a sponsor of the Kansas Jayhawks. Under that agreement, Kansas athletes will wear jerseys featuring an XRP patch—the first time a cryptocurrency logo will appear on the uniforms of a major US collegiate sports program.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is an alumnus of the University of Kansas.

Florida Athletics oversees 21 teams and supports more than 500 student-athletes. Its programs have collectively won 49 national championships across 16 sports, according to the university.

The Florida Gators football team is among the school’s most recognizable programs and one of the most popular teams in the SEC and the wider National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Florida has won three national football championships, securing titles in 1996, 2006, and 2008. The team plays its home games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, commonly known as “The Swamp.”

Displaying the XRP logo at the stadium will give Ripple significant visibility throughout the football season, including during nationally televised games and events attended by tens of thousands of fans.
