The Polygon team announced via a blog post on Monday that it has partnered with Immutable X to launch Immutable zkEVM, a new EVM-compatible ZK-rollup powered by Polygon technology. The two entities are building a dedicated gaming blockchain using zero-knowledge technology to accelerate decentralized game development and bring Web3 a step closer to mass adoption.
Polygon Labs added that Immutable zkEVM would be launching in a few months. Building on Immutable zkEVM with the Immutable Platform will make developing Web3-enabled games faster, easier and less risky for large game studios and independent developers alike.
Polygon (previously Matic Network) is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building multiple types of applications. MATIC is down by 4% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $1.1070.
Immutable X is an L2 scaling solution for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Ethereum, with instant trading, massive scalability, and zero gas fees for minting and trading with shared security with the Ethereum mainnet. IMX is down by 15% today and is trading at $1.273 at press time.
