The Polygon team announced via Twitter on Wednesday that Bitpay is now supporting Polygon and its native MATIC token. Bitpay is one of the leading providers of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payment services.

This latest development means that BitPay merchants can accept Polygon payments from 100+ popular crypto wallets. Users of the BitPay app can also buy, store, swap, and spend MATIC and several other supported ERC-20 tokens on Polygon, such as USDC, DAI, BUSD, and WBTC.

Polygon (previously Matic Network) is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building multiple types of applications. MATIC is up by 1% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.9364.
