In a report published on Wednesday, Bloomberg reported that a group of cryptocurrency researchers has revealed that Polkadot is the blockchain with the smallest carbon footprint.

The researchers looked at proof of stake protocols, with Cardano using the least energy per node and Solana the least energy per transaction

Polkadot facilitates cross-chain communication and interoperability by connecting multiple blockchains into one unified network. DOT, the native token of Polkadot, is up by 5% so far today and is trading at $19.36 at press time.
