Near Foundation Partners With Alibaba Cloud To Accelerate Web3 Growth in Asia

Near Foundation Enters A Strategic Partnership With Alibaba Cloud

The NEAR Foundation, the non-profit behind the ecosystem development of the NEAR protocol, has entered a strategic partnership with Alibaba Cloud, the Chinese tech giant’s arm for computing and storage.

In an announcement on Monday, June 26th, the Near Foundation said the partnership is designed to o accelerate Web3 growth in Asia and the Middle East.

Thanks to this partnership, the Near Foundation will have access to Alibaba Cloud's developer ecosystem across Asia and the Middle East in a bid to attract more developers to build on the NEAR protocol. 

Developers that seek to launch new NEAR validators can do so using Alibaba Cloud’s "plug-and-play" infrastructure as a service.

While commenting on this latest development, Raymond Xiao, head of international Web3 solutions at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, stated that

“The NEAR Foundation and Alibaba Cloud partnership is an important one as we continue to support Web3 developers to explore opportunities. It is also significant for developers and validators in the Asian markets, as they can leverage Alibaba Cloud’s comprehensive infrastructure in Asia.”

Developers To Enjoy RPC Services

The Near Foundation said it would work with Alibaba Cloud to offer remote procedure calls (RPC) as a service to developers and users in the NEAR ecosystem. 

Users can leverage the NEAR Blockchain Operating System (BOS), a platform it launched earlier in the year that allows developers to build into and interact with other users while using Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure

NEAR, the native coin of the Near ecosystem, is up by more than 10% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $1.59 per coin.
