HBAR Foundation, the development team behind the Hedera blockchain, announced via a blog post on Friday that the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) has completed the world's first blockchain certification proof-of-concept (PoC).
The team added that the PoC leverages Verifiable Credentials (VCs) and the Hedera Consensus Service (HCS) to create blockchain-based certificates that ensure data integrity for all students, helping to reduce fraud whilst bringing further credibility to their qualifications.
Hedera Hashgraph is a distributed public ledger infrastructure. According to the team, it offers significant improvements over existing blockchains in five areas: performance, security, governance, stability, and regulatory compliance. HBAR is trading at $0.0714 at press time, down by 5% over the last 24 hours.
