Chainlink Functions Goes Live on Base

Chainlink announced via X on Wednesday that Chainlink Functions is now live on the Base blockchain. Functions provide smart contract developers on Base with access to trust-minimized compute infrastructure, allowing them to fetch data from APIs and perform custom computation.

Chainlink Functions is a serverless, self-serve developer platform enabling developers to connect their smart contracts to any API and trust-minimized computations. The product acts as a decentralized compute runtime that's useful to test, simulate, and run custom offchain logic for Web3 apps.

Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is down by less than 1% over the past 24 hours and is trading at $17.386 at press time.
