HBAR Foundation, the development team behind the Hedera blockchain, announced via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday that Carbon Base has partnered with ImpactX to launch the Global Climate Registry (GCR) on the Hedera blockchain.
Carbon Base is a climate-tech and carbon reduction solutions provider. Built on the Hedera Guardian and leveraging both the Hedera Token Service (HTS) and Hedera Consensus Service (HCS), the GCR offers a streamlined experience for project developers, auditors, and buyers to register, verify, and purchase high-integrity data-driven carbon credits.
The GCR will enable digital MRV, streamline project enablement, and improve carbon credit management, unlocking a new era of transparency, trust, and impact in the fight against climate change, the HBAR Foundation added.
Hedera Hashgraph is a distributed public ledger infrastructure. According to the team, it offers significant improvements over existing blockchains in five areas: performance, security, governance, stability, and regulatory compliance. HBAR is trading at $0.0549 at press time, down by 3% over the last 24 hours.
