In a blog post on Thursday, the Algorand Foundation welcomed APAS to its ecosystem after issuing the project a grant award. According to the Algorand Foundation, APAS will digitize the watershed in the United States by developing a decentralized approach on the Algorand blockchain to monitor the USA watershed’s water quality using sensor technology.
Algorand is an open-source, permissionless, Pure Proof-of-Stake (PPoS) blockchain protocol for “the next generation of financial products”. As such, Algorand ensures "full participation, protection and speed within a truly decentralized network".
