A common argument for regular money (also known as fiat currency) as opposed to cryptocurrency is that you can’t use cryptocurrency to buy groceries and other everyday items. Well, through the use of a cryptocurrency debit card, you can. This is a review of Change Card, one of the crypto debit cards out there.

Change Card is an interesting card that we at Cryptowisser.com are very excited about.

Change Card is a VISA-card, meaning that you can use the card at any point of payment that accepts VISA. This is of course a great advantage, seeing that VISA is the most widely accepted card in the world (alongside MasterCard). You can use it in over 40 million physical and online retailers worldwide.

The card company also highlights on its website that they are regulated in Estonia and has all the required licenses. In addition, they promote that they offer a multi-sig wallet and that your funds are held with reputable EU financial institutions.

The card has support for a number of different cryptocurrencies. On the date of last updating this review (23 January 2021), the number of supported cryptocurrencies was 14. Also, it supports the EUR fiat currency.

We have not really been able to determine what the fees charged by this card are. There are apparently no monthly fees, so that we know. Also, sometime back, when we had a dialogue with the company, we were informed that the issuance fee was EUR 4.95 and that the ATM-fee was EUR 1.10 per withdrawal. We will update this review as soon as we have more insight into the applicable card fees.

Fixed fee for ATM-withdrawals might be disadvantageous in countries where the normal ATM-machines only allow smaller withdrawals (USD 20 for instance). In such scenarios, in order to withdraw a larger amount you need to withdraw several times, thus triggering the fixed fee each time. Hopefully that won't be an issue for you.

To our knowledge, the Change Card does not offer any cashback. A cashback means that every time you use the card, a percentage of what you pay with the card gets transferred back to you. Normally in the form of Bitcoin or the card company's native cryptocurrency tokens. We'll have to wait and see if that's something that the card will have going forward, but right now they don't.

If this is the cryptocurrency debit card for you, congratulations.

But if not, check out one of the other cards in our crypto debit card list.
