The Zilliqa team informed its community members via X (formerly Twitter) on Friday that they have submitted two new proposals centred around improving network efficiency and managing $ZIL inflation as they move to Zilliqa 2.0.

The first proposal aims to temporarily eliminate shards until the more efficient sharding infrastructure is launched, improving cost-efficiency in the meantime.

The second proposal introduces an active reward mechanism that ensures competitive returns while managing ZIL inflation and improving the sustainability of the network.

Zilliqa (ZIL) is one of the world’s first blockchains being built on a sharded architecture and features smart contracts written in the platform’s proprietary programming language, Scilla. ZIL is trading at $0.01611 at press time, down by 2% in the last 24 hours.
