The Zilliqa team announced via Twitter on Wednesday that upgrade v9.2.0 is now live on its mainnet. The upgrade introduces several enhancements and new features designed to optimize performance and strengthen cross-chain functionalities.

The major improvement in this upgrade is enhanced interoperability between Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and Scilla, making it simpler to create, test, and launch fungible tokens using ERC-20 and ZRC-2 smart contracts.

Other upgrades on the network include extended testing coverage for third-party EVM contracts and full backward compatibility with all existing Scilla contracts in the Scilla release 0.13.3, various bug fixes, improvements to server-side resilience, and enhanced overall network performance.

Zilliqa (ZIL) is one of the world’s first blockchains being built on a sharded architecture and features smart contracts written in the platform’s proprietary programming language: Scilla. ZIL is trading at $0.02168 at press time, down by 9% in the last 24 hours.
