The VeChain team announced via X on Wednesday that Account Abstraction (AA) is now live on its blockchain. AA makes interoperability seamless while also unlocking programmable smart contract wallets for a better user experience and improved security.

At its core, account abstraction is about enhancing user experience and security on the blockchain. AA moves away from traditional externally owned accounts (EOAs) toward a more flexible, programmable approach.

VeChain further explained that By abstracting the transaction signing process, smart contract wallets improve user experience, making blockchain interactions smoother and more intuitive. There are security benefits, too - multisig authorization, account recovery methods, and transaction whitelists.

VeChain Thor (VET) is a blockchain with the posited goal of solving real-world economic problems. VeChain leverages the Proof of Authority (PoA) consensus mechanism. PoA is a Byzantine Fault Tolerant probabilistic consensus mechanism based on HotStuff, which relies on Authority Masternodes (AM) associated with verified identities. VET is up by 12% so far today and is currently trading at $0.03758.
