Securitize Set to Debut on NYSE After Shareholders Approve SPAC Merger

TL;DR

  • Tokenization infrastructure firm Securitize will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on July 2 under the ticker SECZ.

  • Shareholders of Cantor Equity Partners II (CEPT) approved the proposed business combination.

  • The merger is expected to provide Securitize with approximately $400 million in capital.

Tokenization infrastructure provider Securitize is preparing to make its public market debut after shareholders of Cantor Equity Partners II (CEPT) approved the company's proposed business combination.

The merger is expected to close on Wednesday, with the combined company set to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on July 2 under the ticker symbol SECZ.

The listing marks a significant milestone for one of the leading companies in the rapidly expanding real-world asset (RWA) tokenization industry.

Merger Secures Approximately $400 Million in Funding

Securitize said the transaction will provide the company with approximately $400 million in capital to support its next phase of growth.

The funding includes a previously announced $225 million private investment in public equity (PIPE) that was oversubscribed.

The company also reported strong shareholder support for the merger, noting that fewer than 30% of CEPT shareholders elected to redeem their shares. As a result, more than 71% of the SPAC trust remained intact, contributing to the overall proceeds from the transaction.

Securitize Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Domingo said becoming a publicly traded company will strengthen the firm's position as tokenization moves further into mainstream finance.

"Today, tokenization is moving into the mainstream, and we believe becoming a public company gives us the visibility, credibility, and capital to lead that next phase of growth," Domingo said.

The public listing is expected to enhance the company's access to capital while increasing its profile among institutional investors.

Securitize Plays a Key Role in the Tokenization Market

Securitize has established itself as one of the world's largest providers of tokenization infrastructure, helping traditional financial institutions bring real-world assets onto blockchain networks.

Among its highest-profile mandates is managing BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized money market fund, which has grown to hold more than $3 billion in total value locked.

The company also works with several major asset managers, including:

  • BlackRock

  • Apollo

  • KKR

  • Hamilton Lane

  • VanEck

Its platform enables institutions to issue, manage, and trade tokenized financial products while operating under multiple regulatory licenses.

Earlier this month, Benchmark Equity Research reaffirmed its "Buy" rating on Securitize with a $16 price target.

The research firm cited Securitize's regulatory approvals across both the United States and Europe as a key competitive advantage, positioning the company to benefit from growing institutional demand for tokenized assets.

Securitize's public debut comes amid accelerating growth in the tokenization sector. According to market data, the combined value locked across the 15 largest real-world asset tokenization protocols has increased by 128% over the past year, rising from $9.55 billion to $21.84 billion.

The surge reflects increasing adoption of blockchain technology by traditional financial institutions seeking to tokenize assets such as money market funds, private credit, real estate, and other securities.

Public Listing Signals Growing Institutional Confidence

Securitize's transition to a publicly traded company underscores the growing maturity of the tokenized asset market.

As institutional investors continue exploring blockchain-based financial products, the company is positioning itself as a key infrastructure provider supporting the digital transformation of capital markets.

With fresh capital, expanded public visibility, and partnerships with some of the world's largest asset managers, Securitize aims to play a leading role in the next phase of tokenized finance.
