Revolut Adds Support for BONK
European banking fintech Revolut has announced plans to list BONK, Solana network’s biggest meme coin. The firm also intends to distribute $1.2 million worth of BONK tokens via the Revolut Learn Campaign.
The campaign will incentivize Revolut users to learn about BONK. However, Revolut added that the "learn" campaign plan still requires approval from BONK's governing council.
At the moment, the approval vote is still ongoing and has almost reached quorum with six of the council's 12 members voting in favor and none against.
BONK was one of the best-performing cryptocurrencies last year, recording a 19,000% increase in price. The meme coin has already been listed on some of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges including Binance, Coinbase, Bybit, and several others.
BONK was launched as a meme coin on the Solana blockchain following FTX’s collapse in 2022. It has since grown to become the ecosystem’s leading meme coin and has gained massive adoption in the last few months.
If the proposal is approved, Revolut intends to distribute BONK to some of its users as a reward for their learning about BONK through the app. The proposal, if approved, will allocate 93 billion BONK tokens (worth $1.2 million) for the learn campaign. The campaign intends to boost BONK's user base by 500,000.
BONK is the 79th largest cryptocurrency by market cap and is up by 15% over the last 24 hours. At press time, BONK is trading at $0.00001426 per coin.
