The Polygon team announced via a blog post on Wednesday that Polygon Labs has collaborated with the NEAR Foundation to a zero-knowledge (ZK) prover for Wasm blockchains. Polygon Labs explained that a zkWasm prover will bridge the gap between Wasm-based chains and the Ethereum ecosystem, including a growing multichain of Polygon CDK chains.

Thanks to this partnership, NEAR Foundation joins Polygon Labs as a core contributor to Polygon CDK (Chain Development Kit). A zkWasm prover will add additional customizability for developers building with Polygon CDK, a collection of open-source software components that make it easy to design and launch ZK-powered L2s on Ethereum.

Polygon (previously Matic Network) is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building multiple types of applications. MATIC is up by 4% in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.7960.

NEAR Protocol is a decentralized application platform designed to make apps similarly usable to those on today’s web. The network runs on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism called Nightshade, which aims to provide dynamic scalability and stabilize fees.NEAR is trading at $1.480, up by 3% in the last 24 hours.
