Polkadot’s First Meme Coin, $DED, to Issue Tokens Via Airdrop to $DOT Holders

Meme coin $DED has announced that it would issue its tokens to $DOT token holders, with this announcement going down well with the broader Polkadot community.

$DED’s Popularity Soars Amongst Polkadot Users

A group of dedicated Polkadot community members have set out to create the first meme coin of the Polkadot network called the $DED coin.

This coin is already gaining momentum and popularity amongst active Polkadot users. Following consultation with the wider Polkadot community, the $DED development team have now announced there will be no team allocation or presale of the coin.

Rather, any holder of $DOT, Polkadot’s native token, can receive $DED via airdrop. This is different from what is obtainable from various meme coins on the Ethereum, BNBChain, and Solana blockchains. 

The announcement has gained widespread acceptance amongst active Polkadot users, with some of them sharing their excitement on X. 

Giotto De Filippi, DOT Activist and $DED coin enthusiast, stated that,

“The $DED coin is really a testament to the strength of the Polkadot community. The dedicated Polkadot community have built this from the ground up in a completely permissionless, decentralized, and transparent way while bringing back the fun and whimsy that made many meme coins successful in their own right.”

Several polls have been conducted on X regarding upcoming meme coins on the Polkadot network and $DED is ahead in virtually all of them. $DED was voted as the meme coin Polkadot users are eager to see get listed on Polkodex, a decentralized exchange on the Polkadot network. 

Furthermore, Polkadot degens also prefer $DED ahead of $PINK, another meme coin coming to the Polkadot network. Overall, $DED is making the right moves and the broader Polkadot community is currently rooting for them.
