Thunder Terminal Suffers a Hack

On-chain trading platform Thunder Terminal suffered an exploit on Tuesday, with the hacker transferring 86.5 ETH ($192,000) to Railgun. This is according to on-chain sleuth ZachXBT.

In an X post on Tuesday, Thunder Terminal said users' private keys were not compromised and users' funds were safe. The trading platform also added that refunds would be handled shortly. The platform wrote that,

“Only 114 wallets out of over 14,000 were affected. Funds are safe going forward. We stopped the attack in <9 minutes.”

According to an on-chain note pointed out by ZachXBT, the attacker claimed that all Thunder’s X posts were lies. “Also we have all the user data. 50 ETH and we will delete the data,” the attacker added.

Thunder revealed that the hack occurred via withdrawal requests, which their server considered as authorized because of leaked session tokens. The trading platform also confirmed that approximately 86.5 ETH and 439 SOL (US$47,800) were lost.
