Tribeca Productions' annual film festival, Tribeca Film Festival, has inked a three-year deal with Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange OKX

Tribeca Productions' annual film festival, Tribeca Film Festival, has inked a three-year deal with Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange OKX. The deal is reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars and will confirm OKX as Tribeca’s main sponsor for the event.

Within the last year and a half, we’ve seen a substantial increase in the number of cryptocurrency sponsorship deals across a variety of sectors, including sport, art, and now film. OKX has followed this trend and continues to do so this year.

First Crypto Company To Join The Movie Business

The Wall Street Journal has reported that the collaboration will extend for three years, with OKX aiming to educate filmmakers and movie fans alike about the values and benefits of cryptocurrency and open their minds about Web3. On top of that, OKX hopes that the new partnership could lead to them financing the production of films designed for the Metaverse.

The NFT trend has been overwhelming, with so much celebrity endorsement the term is now recognisable the world over. The CEO of the film festival, Jane Rosenthal, revealed plans to introduce NFTs in the following years, stating “We want to provide the tools to creators. Over the years to come, we will lean in, help them create these stories, and partner with hardware providers like Facebook.”

The Tribeca Film Festival takes place annually in the spring of New York. This year the event will run from June 8th to Jun 19th.

A History Of OKX Sponsorship

Just a few months back in March, OKX signed a partnership deal with Pep Guardiola’s reigning Premier League champion Manchester City, standing as their official crypto partner. It hasn’t been made public knowledge, but it is believed the deal was also signed on a multi-year basis.

Following that, the crypto platform managed to sign a deal with British Formula 1 race team McLaren Racing. Moreover, McLaren’s driver Daniel Ricciardo became a brand ambassador for the season, wearing a customized OKX racing helmet.

All the deals that OKX has made are very high profile and will significantly help the exchange to gain exposure; as these are some of the most televised events, with top-tier teams, across various sectors.
