The Near Protocol announced via a blog post on Friday that it has partnered with D3, a leading digital infrastructure provider specializing in domains. The partnership with D3 will see Near Protocol apply to obtain the ‘.near’ Top-Level Domain (TLD) during the upcoming ICANN application window.

The collaboration will integrate D3’s interoperable digital identities into the NEAR ecosystem, enhancing utility for both users and developers. Thanks to this partnership, users will have the ability to use a single domain for various functions, such as a website, email address, or wallet address, and will also serve verified credentials within the NEAR ecosystem.

NEAR Protocol is a decentralized application platform designed to make apps similarly usable to those on today’s web. The network runs on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism called Nightshade, which aims to provide dynamic scalability and stabilize fees.NEAR is trading at $3.194, up by 3% in the last 24 hours.
