Cosmos Layer-1 Namada has allocated 3% of its total token supply to incentivize testnet users ahead of its mainnet launch next year.

  • Cosmos Layer 1 Namada has incentivized its testnet and is offering users 3% of its total token supply.

  • Users stand a chance to win part of 30 million NAM tokens.

Namada to Offer Testnet Users 3% of its Total Token Supply

Privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain Namada has launched an incentivized testnet that will reward participants with 3% of its total supply.

According to the team, the  "Namada Shielded Expedition" testnet campaign multiplayer role-playing game would launch ahead of Namada’s mainnet rollout early next year.

The testnet would allow validators and users to join a competitive game to test the network for its consensus (CometBFT) algorithm and Sybil resistance. This would allow participants to use Namada’s features and support asset-agnostic privacy ahead of its mainnet release.

Furthermore, users and validators will compete in an “asteroid mining race,” where they will be ranked by the number of ROIDs (points) they accumulate. For the testnet, Namada has allocated a total of 30 million NAM (3% of the one billion total supply) tokens and they will be distributed to those who succeed in the game.

The team said the testnet commences on January 15 and will run until the end of the month.

This latest development comes a week after Namada unveiled a community airdrop, allocating 65 million (6.5% of the total supply) to researchers, developers and stakers on Cosmos Hub and Osmosis blockchains.

Namada is a proof-of-stake Layer-1 blockchain protocol developed by the Anoma Foundation. The blockchain is slated to launch in the first quarter of next year. Namada is a part of the Cosmos ecosystem and intends to nable asset-agnostic multichain privacy using zero-knowledge proofs for transferring assets across different blockchains.

Furthermore, the Namada network has a native Ethereum bridge that allows users to move assets across various blockchains. In May, the Anoma Foundation raised $25 million to fund its ecosystem development.
