MixMob, a Solana-powered gaming universe, has acquired the licensing rights to the Original Stormtrooper and will integrate it into the MixMob: Racer 1 game.

MixMob, a Solana-powered gaming universe based on Remix Culture, announced on Thursday, February 29th, that it has acquired the licensing rights to the Original Stormtrooper, which first appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope.

In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, MixMob said this latest development introduces the iconic Stormtrooper into the first card racer of Web3 gaming, MixMob: Racer 1, rendered as exclusive Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

It also marks the launch of MixMob's official licensing strategy, with plans to secure three additional licenses in 2024.

Crafted by renowned prop maker Andrew Ainsworth in 1976, the Original Stormtrooper debuted in the first installment of the now globally recognised franchise, setting the standard for intergalactic warfare aesthetics.

MixMob intends to revolutionize the mobile gaming landscape by integrating the Original Stormtrooper into its debut card racing game, MixMob: Racer 1. Adding the Stormtrooper Mask also offers gamers an unparalleled opportunity to embody the spirit of the galaxy's most formidable legion.

The MixMob team said they are preparing to unveil Original Stormtrooper MixBots, mirroring the authentic helmet and armor design. Gamers will be able to race these 3D characters against others in the many arenas of MixMob: Racer 1. Early adopters of MixMob's Gen0 Masks and Gen0 MixBots will be granted priority access to these exclusive releases, inviting them to claim a piece of cinematic history.

While commenting on this latest development, Simon Viera, CEO of MixMob, said,

"Integrating the Original Stormtrooper into MixMob fulfills a dream shared by game developers worldwide. Our vision is to create dynamic teams and factions that rally under the banner of the Original Stormtroopers, transforming them into symbols of unity and competition within the game. The anticipation of facing off against these iconic squads adds a thrilling dimension to the racing experience."

MixMobi is also inviting gamers globally to dive into MixMob: Racer 1 on desktop platforms, offering a glimpse into the innovative integration of the Stormtrooper license. Furthermore, obtaining a MixMob Gen0 Mask and MixBot boosts the gaming experience and ensures early access to the highly anticipated Original Stormtrooper drops.

MixMob has also partnered with Epik to offer additional enhancements and rewards to owners of the Original Stormtrooper items and players of the challenges.

MixMob’s first game, MixMob: Racer 1, is a card strategy racing game that merges real-world money gaming with DeFi. Established by an all-star game team that worked on massively successful titles such as FIFA, Halo, Battlefield, Nintendo, Disney, Nike, Adidas, and Pokerstars, MixMob: Racer 1 will be released on desktop and mobile in early 2024.

In 1976 Andrew Ainsworth of Shepperton Design Studios created the Stormtrooper helmet and armour as featured in the first installment of the now globally recognised franchise, Star Wars ‘A New Hope’ replicas.

Finally, Epik is a leading global licensing agency putting brands into video games to produce premium digital items and experiences. Epik is widely considered to be the blockchain industry leader in producing collaborations for premium licensed digital collectibles, NFTs and exclusive experiences powered by an interoperable proprietary cross-chain technology.
