The Klaytn Foundation announced via Twitter on Monday that it's Cypress hard fork will occur at 86816005 block height (Estimated time: March 31st 13:00 ~ 14:00 UTC+9). Following the network upgrade, its Cypress gas price adjustment will come into effect at 87091200 block height (Estimated time: April 3rd 17:30 ~ 19:30 UTC+9).
Hard forks are backward-incompatible software updates. Typically, these occur when nodes add new rules in a way that conflicts with the rules of old nodes. New nodes can only communicate with others that operate the new version. As a result, the blockchain splits, creating two separate networks: one with the old rules, and one with the new rules.
Klaytn is a public blockchain developed by Ground X, the blockchain arm of Korea’s internet giant Kakao with 50 million users worldwide. KLAY is up by less than 5% in the last 24 hours and now trades at $1.239 per token.
