Flare and Web3Auth have partnered to enable simple access to Web3 apps and services using email and social login credentials.

Blockchain for data, Flare, has announced its partnership with Web3Auth, the leading wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) infrastructure provider. The partnership will enable simple access to Web3 apps and services using email and social login credentials.

In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, Flare said the integration with Web3Auth removes the reliance on seed phrases for creating or accessing a Web3 wallet on Flare.

The team added that by allowing Web2-based logins, it creates a ‘Web2.5 experience’ where users can input existing Google, Apple, Telegram, Discord and all OAuth-supported accounts to access decentralized apps and services on the Flare network quickly.

Using a traditional and simple login process instead aims to improve user experience while accelerating adoption. Flare pointed out that both mainstream and crypto-native users can benefit from the easy login process that’s been used for accessing web and mobile platforms for decades.

Developers building dApps and wallets on Flare can also use Web3Auth to ease their onboarding process,  making it a much more straightforward experience for their users.

Web3Auth enables the retention of non-custodial characteristics of a wallet management system. This implies that users maintain full control and ownership of their cryptographic wallets, reinforcing the principles of privacy and security inherent in blockchain technology.

While commenting on this latest development, Flare Senior Solidity Engineer Filip Koprivec said:

“Onboarding non-Web3 users is a major hurdle for existing dApps and developers. A decentralized and secure way of combining classical social login with Web3 authentication means that new users no longer need to set up the private keys but can use the product immediately.”

Flare is the blockchain for data, an EVM smart contract platform that expands the utility of blockchain. With decentralized oracles built into the structure of the network, Flare is the only smart contract platform optimized for decentralized data acquisition - price & time series data, blockchain event & state data, and web2 API data.

Meanwhile, Web3Auth is the leading Wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) infrastructure provider that bridges web2 and web3, with over 12 million monthly users. It leverages upon a simple, self-custodial two-factor wallet setup for both Web2 and Web3 applications alike, offering a seamless authentication experience for everyone.
