On Wednesday, the Arbitrum team announced via a blog post that Erigon and Nethermind will officially start development to support the Arbitrum ecosystem.
For node runners who have ever watched their RPCs lag or sync times crawl while simultaneously pulling out every last strand of hair from their scalp, Nethermind may be the client you need.
Most people know that running nodes is expensive, mainly because of their storage requirements, which sometimes require storage of terabytes of data…not exactly accessible for the everyday person. This is where Erigon comes in. It lowers the barriers to entry by reducing disk space by up to 80% compared to traditional archival nodes. Erigon also allows smaller teams, individuals, or regional providers to run full archival nodes at a much more affordable cost.
Arbitrum is a suite of scaling solutions on Ethereum that utilize Optimistic Rollup. It allows users to enjoy faster speeds and cheaper transaction costs when interacting with web3 dApps. ARB, the native coin of the Arbitrum network, is down 7% today and is trading at $0.4221.
