Canadian crypto exchange Catalyx has suspended all trading, deposit and withdrawal activities on its platform following a security breach earlier this month.

Catalyx Suspends Trading, Withdrawals and Deposits

The company behind Canadian crypto exchange Catalyx announced via a press release on Thursday that it has suspended all trading deposits and withdrawals following a security breach that involved the loss of some customer funds.

The company, CatalX CTX Ltd. further revealed that it has opened an investigation into the security breach, which may involve an employee. However, the crypto exchange did not reveal how much money was suspected to have been lost. Catalyx said,

“Due to the Loss, all crypto and fiat currency withdrawals from the Platform and all trading activities on the Platform have been temporarily suspended. The Company will provide an update to its customers upon the conclusion of Deloitte LLP's investigation. Further updates will be provided on this matter when available.”

This latest development comes a week after Canadian regulators ordered Catalyx to cease all trading of crypto contracts and opened its own investigation into the company.
