The Cosmos team announced via Twitter on Friday that it would be launching its Channel Upgradability feature soon. The move is set to foster a robust and sustainable interchain.
Chains will have the ability to upgrade their existing IBC channels to unlock innovative features, such as the fee middleware, that brings on-chain fee incentivization for relayer operators, the team added.
The Cosmos team further explained that Channel upgradability, combined with fee middleware, establishes the groundwork for a scalable and sustainable interchain.
Cosmos is a network connecting many independent distributed ledgers (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin) to achieve interoperability across blockchains. ATOM, the native token of Cosmos, is down by more than 1% in the last 24 hours and is trading at $9.168 at press time.
