Charles Schwab Adds Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to Its Crypto Platform

Charles Schwab announced on Thursday that it plans to add three tokens (Solana SOL, Avalanche AVAX, and Chainlink LINK) to the Schwab Crypto platform.

The additions are part of Schwab’s plans to thoughtfully expand its digital asset offering with established cryptocurrencies that align with client demand. These new digital assets will be available in the coming months for clients to buy and sell in their Schwab Crypto accounts. Schwab Crypto, which began rolling out to clients in May 2026, already provides direct access to bitcoin and ethereum trading.

Schwab Crypto provides direct access to digital assets trading, combined with a range of resources and support to help clients, including:

  • In-depth digital assets education and resources, including insights and commentary from the Schwab Center for Financial Research and crypto-focused content through Schwab Coaching, to help investors understand the digital assets market and how digital assets fit into a broader investing strategy.

  • View and trade cryptocurrency and traditional investments side-by-side across Schwab.com, Schwab Mobile, and thinkorswim, Schwab’s award-winning trading platform.

  • Access to Schwab’s award-winning 24/7 support from thousands of tenured service professionals by phone or chat.

  • Pricing among the lowest in the industry at 75 basis points on the dollar value of each trade

Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is up 1.6% over the past 24 hours, trading at $11.73.

Solana is an integrated, open-source blockchain that synchronizes global information at the speed of light. The network is focused on fast transactions and high throughput to encourage mass consumer adoption of blockchain technology.

Solana is a highly functional open-source project that banks on blockchain technology’s permissionless nature to provide decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions. While the idea and initial work on the project began in 2017, Solana was officially launched in March 2020 by the Solana Foundation with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Solana protocol is designed to facilitate decentralized app (DApp) creation. It aims to improve scalability by introducing a proof-of-history (PoH) consensus combined with the underlying proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus of the blockchain.

Because of the innovative hybrid consensus model, Solana enjoys interest from small-time traders and institutional traders alike. A significant focus for the Solana Foundation is to make decentralized finance accessible on a larger scale.

SOL is up 5.5% in the last 24 hours and trades at $107.00.

Avalanche is an open-source platform for launching Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications and enterprise blockchain deployments in an interoperable, highly scalable ecosystem. Avalanche is a layer one blockchain that functions as a platform for decentralized applications and custom blockchain networks. It is one of Ethereum’s rivals, aiming to unseat Ethereum as the most popular blockchain for smart contracts. It aims to do so by having a higher transaction output of up to 6,500 transactions per second while not compromising scalability.

This is made possible by Avalanche’s unique architecture. The Avalanche network consists of three individual blockchains: the X-Chain, C-Chain, and P-Chain. Each chain has a distinct purpose, which is radically different from the approach Bitcoin and Ethereum use, namely, having all nodes validate all transactions. Avalanche blockchains even use different consensus mechanisms based on their use cases.

AVAX is up 1.33% today and currently trades at $7.45 per coin.
