The Zilliqa team announced via a blog post on Friday that Chainlink data feeds are now live on the Zilliqa network. Chainlink data feeds provide pricing data that is aggregated from many data sources by a decentralised set of independent node operators. These data feeds act as price oracles, allowing builders on the Zilliqa network to access reliable pricing data for tokens from external sources.

Currently, both the Zilliqa mainnet and testnet include Chainlink data feeds for ZIL-USD and USDT-USD trading pairs.

The introduction of these data feeds is immensely useful as it enables builders to both create more robust dApps (decentralised applications) as well as port over popular dApps from other EVM networks that are not currently available on Zilliqa, the Zilliqa team added.

Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is down by 1% over the past 24 hours and is trading at $7.609 at press time.

Zilliqa (ZIL) is one of the world’s first blockchains being built on a sharded architecture and features smart contracts written in the platform’s proprietary programming language: Scilla. ZIL is trading at $0.01694 at press time, down by less than 1% in the last 24 hours.
