BNB Chain is building a new Layer-1 blockchain capable of over 100,000 TPS with AI-powered trading, privacy features, and a testnet scheduled for late 2026.

BNB Chain Unveils AI-Focused Layer-1 Blockchain Capable of 100,000+ TPS

TL;DR

  • BNB Chain is developing a new high-performance Layer-1 blockchain for AI-powered trading, enterprise applications, and privacy-focused use cases.

  • The network targets over 100,000 transactions per second (TPS), sub-50ms transaction pre-confirmation, and less than one second finality.

BNB Chain has announced plans to develop a next-generation Layer-1 blockchain designed to support high-performance decentralized applications, including AI-powered trading systems, enterprise solutions, and privacy-focused transactions.

The initiative was unveiled in the blockchain network's first-half (H1) 2026 report, outlining a broader roadmap aimed at improving scalability, user experience, and institutional adoption.

According to BNB Chain, the new blockchain is being built to deliver Web2-level performance while maintaining the transparency and security of decentralized networks.

New Layer-1 Targets Over 100,000 Transactions Per Second

The upcoming blockchain is being engineered to process more than 100,000 transactions per second (TPS) through optimized consensus mechanisms and parallel execution.

BNB Chain also plans to achieve several performance milestones, including:

  • Transaction pre-confirmation in under 50 milliseconds

  • Block finality in less than one second

  • No public mempool, allowing transactions to be routed directly to block producers

By eliminating the public mempool, the network aims to significantly reduce transaction latency while preventing front-running attacks that often affect decentralized trading platforms.

The new Layer-1 blockchain is being designed to support emerging AI-powered autonomous trading systems, enabling intelligent agents to execute transactions efficiently on-chain.

Beyond AI applications, the protocol will incorporate built-in privacy features such as:

  • Confidential transactions

  • Selective disclosure for regulatory compliance

  • Native privacy protections for enterprise users

These capabilities are intended to make the blockchain suitable for both institutional and commercial deployments requiring secure and compliant transaction processing.

BNB Chain Targets a Web2-Like User Experience

According to BNB Chain, one of the project's primary objectives is to eliminate many of the usability barriers associated with blockchain technology.

The network plans to introduce features including transaction batching, scheduled transaction execution, passkey authentication, and access key management.

Together, these enhancements are expected to provide users with a faster and more intuitive experience comparable to traditional Web2 applications.

BNB Chain expects to launch the testnet by the end of 2026, followed by a mainnet release in early 2027.

Alongside the new blockchain initiative, BNB Chain highlighted several AI-focused products introduced during the first half of the year.

These include:

  • BNB Agent Studio

  • BNB Agent SDK

The tools integrate with AWS Bedrock AgentCore and large language model (LLM) gateways, making it easier for developers to build and deploy autonomous AI agents capable of interacting with blockchain applications.

The company believes these products will accelerate the adoption of AI-powered decentralized applications across its ecosystem.

Payments Infrastructure and BSC Performance Upgrades

BNB Chain also continued enhancing its blockchain payments ecosystem by improving its Middleware Payment Protocol (MPP).

The upgrades focus on delivering seamless payment integrations while expanding adoption through strategic partnerships.

Meanwhile, developers plan to significantly increase the performance of BNB Smart Chain (BSC) by doubling its current transaction throughput, scaling performance up to 10 times over the long term, and refining gas fee structures to lower costs for both Web2 and Web3 businesses

The company says reducing transaction costs will be critical for driving mainstream blockchain adoption.

Security remains another major priority for the network. BNB Chain is actively researching and testing quantum-resistant cryptographic technologies to protect blockchain infrastructure against future threats posed by quantum computing.

The initiative aims to safeguard encrypted blockchain data from potential attacks as quantum computing technology continues to advance.

While short-term sentiment remains subdued, BNB Chain is positioning its upcoming infrastructure upgrades as a long-term foundation for AI innovation, enterprise adoption, and next-generation blockchain performance.
