Bitcoin Maintains Price Around $34k

Bitcoin, the world’s leading cryptocurrency by market cap, has maintained its price around the $34k region over the last 24 hours. BTC has added less than 1% to its value over the last few hours and is now trading at $34,023 per coin.

The performance comes despite the removal of the ticker for BlackRock's (BLK) spot bitcoin ETF – IBTC – from the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation's (DTCC) website.

The ticker’s appearance on the DTCC website earlier this week saw investors speculate about imminent approval for a spot bitcoin ETF, resulting in Bitcoin’s price reaching a yearly high of $35,200 on Monday.

Furthermore, data obtained from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) indicated that open interest for Bitcoin futures reached a record high of $3.4 billion earlier this week. The surge in open interest for BTC futures indicates growing interest from institutional investors.

LINK, the native coin of the Chainlink network, is by far the best performer amongst the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap in the last 24 hours. LINK is up by more than 13% in the last few hours and is now trading at $11.49. The rally comes following Chainlink’s partnership with Vodafone. Year-to-date, LINK is up by more than 60%.

The total cryptocurrency market cap remains around $1.25 trillion as the crypto market has experienced a mixed performance in the last few hours.
