Binance Fan Token and Binance Charity have partnered with Italian football club S.S Lazio to unveil an innovative new initiative that puts the power of selection in the hands of the fans.
In a press release shared with Cryptowisser, the team revealed that Binance users would get to play a crucial role as the main decision-makers in choosing the "Player of the Month" (POTM), with a $100,000 donation at stake for selected charitable initiatives.
Thanks to the introduction of Binance Fan Tokens, fans have new and unique ways to support their beloved teams and players. The Binance POTM program enables fans to vote for their preferred players and reward them with Binance Fan Tokens.
The Binance team further explained that votes can be cast on a per-match basis, whether it's monthly, weekly, or over the course of a season.
This latest development is set to drive positive social change, as the player who accumulates the most POTM titles throughout the season will donate all $65,000 of their winnings to the charity of their choice, while the runner-up will donate all $35,000 of their winnings.

Ciro Immobile Takes The First Award
The Binance Charity team revealed that the first winner announced as part of the POTM fundraiser is Ciro Immobile. The Italian footballer will be donating 100% of his winnings (equivalent to $65,000) to Binance Charity’s Tree Millions initiative.
The Tree Millions Initiative aims to address deforestation, which is a key driver of climate change. Since launching in 2021, it has seen over 295,000 trees planted across 27 countries worldwide. The $65,000 donation will be dedicated to reforestation efforts in Italy to benefit the local community.
Furthermore, Felipe Anderson, the runner-up, will donate 100% of his winnings (equivalent to $35,000) to Binance Charity's Earthquake Appeal.
Binance Charity has partnered with Mercy Corps and Kizilay (the Turkish Red Cross). Anderson’s funds would be channeled toward those most affected in Turkey and Syria to help rebuild their lives following one of the most devastating earthquakes to strike the region in over a century earlier this year.
Finally, S.S. Lazio players are auctioning off football shirts to raise money for Binance Charity’s Fight Hunger Worldwide project. So far, the project as helped feed almost 22,000 people through food distribution projects in Morocco, Sri Lanka, France, Nigeria, and Malaysia.
The funds generated via the sales of the S.S. Lazio football shirts will go towards our Fight Hunger Worldwide project, with the goal of running a food drive for underprivileged communities in Italy this summer.
