TON Experiences a Brief Outage
The Open Network (TON), an independent layer-1 blockchain tied with the Telegram messaging platform, experienced a brief outage during the last hours of Sunday, June 1st.
The development team announced the issue at 12:51:00 UTC and restored network functionality approximately 40 minutes after the outage was identified. In an X post, the team added that the incident was related to an error in the processing of the masterchain dispatch queue.

Furthermore, the team assured users that no funds were affected by the outage and that transactions submitted during the downtime were not at risk of loss.
Blockchain network outages are not new within the crypto ecosystem. They affect higher-throughput, high-speed blockchains due to the increased technical complexity of these chains. Brief outages tend to be more common as the sophistication of blockchain networks increases and affects consumer confidence in cryptocurrencies.
Last August, TON experienced several brief outages thanks to the high demand for the DOGS memecoin. The DOGS minting created a network congestion that forced a chain halt.
However, the brief outages haven’t impacted the TON blockchain as it continues to attract new projects. Institutional investment in The Open Network is also on the rise as the team raised $400 million from venture capital firms, including Sequoia Capital, Draper Associates, CoinFund, SkyBridge, and others in March.
Toncoin (TON) is currently the 18th-largest cryptocurrency, with a market cap of $7.5 billion. TON is up by less than 1% in the last 24 hours and now trades at $3.15.
