On Wednesday, the Thorchain team unveiled the V3.14.0 protocol upgrade as it seeks to cut delays, clean vaults, fix the quirks, and make THORChain smoother than ever. Some integrators previously sent transactions to inactive or retired vaults, causing refunds to fail and forcing the network to waste time manually retrying them. v3.14.0 upgrades the outbound logic so that any refund originating from a retired vault is automatically retried until it succeeds.
V3.14.0 introduces a targeted migration that identifies these leftover balances and triggers safe outbound refunds to clear them. The upgrade cleans up legacy vault dust, fixes old edge cases, and keeps the vault system fully consistent going forward.
The upgrade also ensures that the advanced swap queue is now consistent with the legacy logic and fully tested. This makes time estimates accurate and consistent with how the advanced swap queue actually behaves.
THORChain is a decentralized cross-chain exchange where traders can swap cross-chain assets via liquidity pools across Binance Chain, Ethereum, and Bitcoin. RUNE is up 3.7% today and is currently trading at $0.6870.
