On Friday, the Ronin Network announced via X that it is migrating to the Ethereum blockchain. It follows in the footsteps of other projects like Celo, which recently migrated to Ethereum.
Thanks to the decreasing transaction fees and the improved speed, Ronin will become a full-fledged, Ethereum-aligned L2 by next year. With this migration, Ronin will become a multi-purpose chain with apps beyond gaming. Transactions will be 12x faster, and Ronin will benefit from Ethereum’s robust security and decentralization. Furthermore, $RON staking rewards will now reward builders via a new Proof of Distribution model.
After this upgrade, $RON rewards will flow to Governing Validators and Contributors. This will reinforce incentives between builders and users, kickstarting a new flywheel with $RON at the center.
Ronin Wallet is the crypto wallet developed for Axie Infinity. It operates on the Ronin blockchain, which works as a sidechain on the Ethereum network. The Ronin network makes it much cheaper to trade and breed Axies and greatly reduces the costs of playing Axie Infinity. RONIN is down 2.6% and currently trades at $0.546 per coin.
