On Monday, the Wormhole team announced via a blog post that Ripple’s $RLUSD has adopted Wormhole's NTT standard to expand multichain. This integration will enable the issuance of $RLUSD across all of crypto, starting with Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain.
With NTT, token issuers eliminate the need for fragmented liquidity or wrapped assets, allowing a single, canonical version of RLUSD to exist natively on each blockchain, with Ripple owning the contracts.
Ripple expects to launch RLUSD on additional chains next year, subject to final regulatory approval. This expansion is a significant step toward diversifying the stablecoin ecosystem.
