Chainlink announced in a blog post on Tuesday that it has launched the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), a layer that unlocks institutional-grade smart contracts for onchain finance.

CRE connects blockchains, data providers, and enterprise systems into one interoperable environment. This condenses orchestration codes into a single execution environment, enabling complex cross-chain, multi-system operations to be deployed in days, not months.

CRE enables automated compliance, private smart contracts, policy management, identity verification, auditability, and privacy of sensitive data and logic. It also provides verifiable execution that proves every step occurred as defined. It’s also backed by infrastructure that’s already enabled $26+ trillion in transaction value and currently secures nearly $100 billion.

Chainlink Network (LINK) aims to provide tamper-proof inputs and outputs of data for smart contracts on any blockchain. LINK is up 3.3% over the past 24 hours and is trading at $14.86 at press time.
