Sky Mavis’s Axie Infinity has revealed that a scam took place on March 23rd, which they have just become privy to and saw the play-2-earn game lose out on $625 million in digital assets. The attacker behind the theft made off with 173,600 Ethereum (ETH) and 25.5 USD Coin (USDC)

Axie Infinity (AXS) is run on the Ronin blockchain network, which had a weakness allowing hackers to get into the network. The plan is to increase the required number of nodes from four to eight for transactions.
