On Wednesday, the Avalanche Foundation announced via X that Avalanche provides the performance, security, and scale for the KRW1 stablecoin.

Avalanche Now Powers Korea’s KRW1 Stablecoin

On Wednesday, the Avalanche Foundation announced via X that Avalanche provides the performance, security, and scale for the KRW1 stablecoin. BDACS, together with Woori Bank, has launched KRW1, a fully collateralized, won-backed stablecoin.

BDACS plans to utilize KRW1 as a low-cost payment and settlement system for public-sector programs, such as emergency relief disbursements, by significantly lowering payment processing fees.

Avalanche is an open-source platform for launching Decentralized Finance (DeFi) applications and enterprise blockchain deployments in an interoperable, highly scalable ecosystem.AVAX is up 9% today and currently trades at $32.76 per coin.
